Personal Statement: I Want To Learn

Decent Essays
I want to learn as much as I can before I go to college so I’m prepared for anything when I get to that point. I don’t think that I will get that type of learning at another school and that’s why I’m applying to Cass. I have always been a hard worker in school and at home I always finish my homework and I always finish my classwork.

Personal Statement A college campus is teeming with young, inspired individuals ready to take on the world. A college campus is also where you can find a plethora of students who are not going to take their studies seriously, and will inevitably abuse their freedoms. As a student who is safely in the inspired individuals category, I am confident when I say I will be an academic, athletic, and extracurricular benefit to any campus. I have much to offer and benefit the college community, not just through my academic interest as many students try to and do.…

As a Family Advocate, I work with families and children from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. It is important to focus on building relationships of mutual trust, confidence, and respect for diverse families. After completing the observations, the anti-bias curriculum is a must to reflect the culture and background of the families and children in the program. Many families I work with are low income. My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…

Opportunity to Success I am not born to a rich family that has everything I want and need and clearly I am not born with any amazing skills either. I am just a normal person who is lucky enough to receive the wonderful opportunity of a formal education in America. Despite my family’s lack of English language skills and the limitations of my family’s resources, I have been able to navigate myself through the American educational system. With hard work, many hours of studying and dedication to school, I have found success in high school in just four years of speaking English. However, my hard work is not over yet.…

From the age of five, I have known that I wanted to help people. I spent my childhood years helping take care of my grandma. I was my grandmothers special little helper that would help the adults in the kitchen prepare grandma's meals and always made sure to have the pitcher full of water and ready for her medicine. When caring for my grandmother, I would get the world best satisfying feeling after making her feel better, which left me with the feeling of wanting to do more in hopes that my efforts would continue to make my grandmother feel better.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

How It Relates To "The Real World": Often times in life, people are faced with choice of speaking up or staying silent. My generation is the last generation that will be able to hear firsthand stories about WWII, so it is our duty to continue to speak out to future generations. Another aspect of this is thinking about other social issues. We so often talk about preventing tragedies like the Holocaust from happening again, but these tragedies have never stopped. Which leads to the question of what I should do and how speaking out could positively or negatively effect my future.…

As young children we have aspirations of what we want to be when we grow up. However, more often than not, these ambitions transform as we meander through life's events. People, places, and experiences are a few pieces of these events that assist in discovering what we are meant to be, Throughout my life, there were moments in which a career serving people as a medical professional did entice me, however I quickly put those ideas out of my mind. This was especially true in more recent years of my life. The matter of pursuing a career in a medical setting was automatically averted everytime I even considered the thought.…

A personal philosophy of education statement usually addresses multiple aspects of teaching, such as desired learning outcomes, instructional techniques, and ways students will be assessed (“Teaching Methods,” n.d.). As I develop my personal philosophy of education, I find myself reflecting on what the goals of education should truly be. I look at what teaching methods have been the most successful for both myself and my students over the last 20 years of my teaching career and what are my preferred educative practices. This is employing the inductive method (Knight, 2008). Understanding my role in educating children is important to developing my philosophy.…
