Personal Statement: I Want To Help People

Decent Essays
From the age of five, I have known that I wanted to help people. I spent my childhood years helping take care of my grandma. I was my grandmothers special little helper that would help the adults in the kitchen prepare grandma's meals and always made sure to have the pitcher full of water and ready for her medicine. When caring for my grandmother, I would get the world best satisfying feeling after making her feel better, which left me with the feeling of wanting to do more in hopes that my efforts would continue to make my grandmother feel better.

For example, being able to share stories with other women, being able to help them during their pregnancy, and being able to provide health education and parenting support after their delivery. My fondness to kids also transcends in my craft as I was able to supervise some of the newborn from time to time. Later on, because to the huge support system for one another, one by one, some of my siblings were also able to create a big milestone for themselves and their own family. As time passed by, everything was going right to the point where I think it was all a dream until my beloved father became very ill.…

I have always been known as being that person who has always been intact and has never shown a single ounce of weakness, because people view me this way, they think I am unbreakable, and that nothing in the world can wound me. I have always been that person that people turn to when they are stuck in a bottomless pit and cannot find a way to get out, because of this, I have always had an interest in being there for those who need a shoulder to accompany them. Since I was very young, I always clung to the passion of being at the side of others who were struggling, and were in desperate need of help. As medical treatment become more available in our community my grandma was able to receive the care she needed without having to travel fifty miles or more.
