Personal Statement: I Believe In Hard Work

Decent Essays
What I believe,
I believe in hard work, the type of work that will bring an individual success. One summer, after being notified of my failed grade in English the year before. I was transferred to Concord High school. This was my first time going to summer school I was not sure what to expect. Once I was dropped off, there was a board showing students names and class room they were assigned to. I was assigned to Ms. Hillman, the freshman and sophomore English teacher. Although the first day was not much of an academic day, more of a physical desk moving activity. Next day was straight into reading an independent book. From the majority of the students attending these sessions. None wanted to read and or participate in any of the journal writing.

With the end of the second week, my student teaching experience at Wolford Elementary has been fulfilling since I have already performed the majority of my mentor’s duties. The week commenced with modeling by my mentor, preparing me for my unaccompanied instruction of Reading and Writing. With the constructive criticism from my mentor, it prepared me for my observation unfortunately, on the day of my observation my primary student referenced in my lesson plan was absent. The first instruction of the day is a group of three students for reading…

My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

The English Student It was a Tuesday morning during the third period when I met my Sophomore English teacher, Mrs. Carol Hughes. I started judging her thinking that she didn’t know how to teach since she taught at a high school considered ghetto. During class, I was usually disruptive and Mrs. Hughes had so much patience that she wouldn’t say a word. She kept calling me to answer questions about pronouns, adjectives, and nouns. I remember leaning back on my chair as if I was the instructor dictating the class.…
