I worked at Scotland county Group Home with children as a manager, now, I was in need of adult day program service for mother and all seniors, and there was not any place in Scotland County. My goal was to advocate for Seniors. I used more of contemporary leadership style because I called on different agencies asking questions and collaborating the needs to have such a program in the community. I addressed adult protective center, the health department, and the county commissioner. One of the supervisor told me after my presentation that I had a high level of motivation and compassion toward the service of an adult daycare for seniors. I told her when one advocate for change it become personal. I advocated not only for my mother, but for all of the other senior’s caregivers that want to keep their love one at home.
