My Father is an active duty Soldier in the in the army, he is a sergeant in human resources. He has served since 1998 to this day. He has deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Korea. He has participated in the global war on terrorism, and when he participated, he helped a wounded warrior to medical attention. He was in Operation Iraqi Freedom campaigns, Iraqi governance, and the National Resolution campaign. He took part in Afghanistan campaigns, Consolidation 2 and 3, and Transition 1. He has served 18 years so far, and is presently stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
One way his service has improved my opportunities in life is, giving me knowledge and showing me how to do things. He raised me to be a good kid although sometimes I do accidently do bad things, he has shown me what’s right and wrong. He teaches me how to do good deeds and help out those in need. He has taught me how to live life as a good man and how to be a good parent for the future. He has given me the safety of knowing that I will be guarded and looked after. The freedom of having pride in myself and my country, and the opportunities to become anything I can imagine. He has given me the knowledge that not every job in the military is combat, but they must work as a collective to accomplish their mission. He has helped families like mine to contact and reach their soldiers, and provide the knowledge that their soldiers are still well. He has also had the displeasure of identifying friends and brothers in arms who could not make it home alive from combat.
