I. Gold’s Gym is a private chain of international fitness centers or gyms. Their motto is “Know Your Strength.” Their mission statement is to “enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve through our fitness philosophy, facilities, programs, and products.” I used to work in this establishment as a personal trainer. My main responsibility was to help gym members achieve their fitness potential through personalized fitness programs. In addition to this, I am responsible for conducting appointments with members and making sure that the establishment remains clean and orderly. The audience background necessary for this is the board of members at Gold’s Gym because they are responsible for creating policies and projects that could boost the company’s potential for sustainability. The kind of sustainability that Gold’s Gym should be aiming for is social sustainability which involves maintaining a healthy relationship with their current or potential clients. This is important because it preserves or lessens the depletion of natural resources. Sport & Health operates within a smaller area so they will have a greater chance of making their operations more sustainable due to its smaller scale.
Environmental sustainability would work better than economic sustainability because the company is actually performing well so far. They would invite more people in if they have environmental sustainability as part of their corporate social responsibility. As a matter of fact, environmental sustainability is under the umbrella of economic sustainability because you can have both at the same time.
There are a lot of ways that Sports & Health can achieve environmental sustainability and that is through eco-friendly fitness technology. This includes green buildings, energy-producing equipment, non-toxic cleaning supplies, energy-efficient lights and fans, solar panels and much more.
