Personal Statement For Pursuing Parsons

Decent Essays
Consequently, here I am applying to one of the most prestigious fashion institutes in the country. Pursuing Parsons in hopes of becoming an advocate and clothing designer for those of us who climb on the kitchen counter, who need assistance at the grocery store for items on the top shelf, and who drive on top of the steering wheel to reach the foot pedals. Many designers have yet to look down and see petite people admiring the beautiful clothing they have constructed. The same women always on the prowl for making friends with the right tailors, admiring “average” length pieces from afar. It is time we start designing small and thinking big.

When I brought up the school every single person I knew said it was right for me and that I needed to take the chance when I could. The traditional view of art has changed over time just as most things have. Naturally, the act of perception has differed opinions on what society considers as art. Dance, paintings, photography, drawings, music, literature, and sculpting, are what comes to mind when contemplating the aspects of art. The limitation to defining a word so opinionated leaves out room for self-expression. The traditional ideas of what is considered art should be broadened; granted, although not tangible, art can be seen through ambitions, emotions, and expression through appearances when not limited to the customary definition.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

I am so excited with the prospect of studding fashion at University as I know that it will an experience that will encourage my ambition to push myself and the boundaries of fashion by looking to the future.
