I have always been interested in criminology, I love learning how different techniques and methods are used for solving crimes this is something I intend to further my knowledge in, at university. Studying criminology will develop my understanding of the consequences of a crime and its effect on society; the working of the human mind intrigues me and therefore I relish the opportunity to be able to further the experience and knowledge already gained during my current studies. This covers all aspects of forensic science, including Forensic Psychology, studying offender profiling, treatment of offenders were I developed a treatment plan and a risk assessment for a particular case study. The course I am currently studying at college has helped me make the decision alongside my experience with science throughout GCSE, to further my education in Criminology. At Truro college I will also be studying; Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis, Processing and analysing evidence from mock crime scenes, Forensic informatics involves the study of cybercrime which is prominent in the news today, covering issues such as cyberbullying and other internet crimes including those committed through social media. This is something that is very intriguing due to how popular this type of crime is and how big of an impact it has on certain individuals. This has given me an insight into Criminology which is what I intend to study at university.
Studying criminology and psychology at university will allow me to further the knowledge I have already gained, looking at the different topics that involve different subject areas including treatment for different offenders and the plans in place to enable them to be rehabilitated allowing them to reintegrate back into society
