People deal with the loss of loved ones on a daily basis. We understand the situation more when it hits home as in a person you cherish and love leaving forever. This person was someone we appreciated because of what values and wisdom they left behind to help us in our lives. Death is inevitable it will happen in every person’s life. It is a terrible experience that leaves a person distant, detached from reality, and traumatized. It is truly a dramatic situation that can leave a person scarred for life.
The words that no one wants to hear I’m sorry but a loved one has just passed away. These words don’t sink in until we actually see the person inside the casket paying our last respect. I have only been to one funeral when I was around 10 years old. This funeral was different I didn’t quite understand why my cousin passed away I just knew I was never going to see her again. The next experience was my uncle, an amazing man who made sure his family was protected and well taken care of. It was the end of April and we went to my uncle’s house for a family gathering. When we walked into the living room to see everybody gathered around the TV reminiscing. They watched a DVD about lost loved ones. It was both a joyous and emotional time that helped us come together as a family. The rest of that night was great the family sat around enjoying each other’s company some of us haven’t been with each for years. They told old stories of the adventures they shared while going from children to young adults. The night ended with everyone not wanting to part ways but we all had business to finish that
