Dr. Danielle lived in my hometown of Wah Cantt, Pakistan where he practiced pediatric medicine. He was the person on whom my parents trust and sought favors, whenever my siblings or my health was compromised. Due to his positive traits and concerning nature, my parents built a lasting relationship based on trust. I was utterly enjoying every step from the beginning to the end. On every rotation, I enjoyed and learnt the content of the field and could see myself applying my learning on the daily basis. At first, I enjoyed the ability for utilizing my medical knowledge and applying it to the formulation of management plan. Secondly, my ability provides me with complete satisfaction to tailor patients’ interaction and managing each patient’s unique situation. In order to gain the trust from my patients, I want to form a strong and lasting therapeutic relationship for the longitudinal care, and for that I decided to take challenges of being prepared to the unexpected. Many times I would see children dying from vaccine preventable illness. However, instead of getting discouraged I developed a proactive approach and started community lectures on these common issues. Working in a team of doctors, nurses and technicians we were able to change some of misconceptions. I have gained priceless life experiences during my career and also learnt to be fearless and versatile in adjusting in new environment along tackling new challenges.
My quest for knowledge and stive for excellence in patient care made me to start preparing for the USMLE. Training in the USA will help me to achieve my goals of becoming an expert in my profession. Since moving to USA, I have been living in different cities and getting familiarize with US health system. From this I have gained tremendous experience in adapting to new environment, attempting new challenges and interacting with people of diverse backgrounds.
