Statement
Reflecting on my semester so far, based off my participation and grasp of the materials taught in this course, Tim, I believe I deserve an A-. I am writing to you I feel this way. There have been numerous things I have learned and mastered from the lessons covered in class. Also I believe the amount of time and effort I put in and out of class shows my dedication. Although I have learned a great amount, I must admit I do not deserve a perfect score as I am still lacking in some areas when it comes to technical writing.
Participation
During this semester, I have invested most of my time in this course as I know out of all of my classes this semester till will be the most crucial for my career. On top of receiving help from my classmates …show more content…
I have been using my siblings who assisted me with my college essays that helped me get accepted to the University of Minnesota; Furthermore, one of my good friends Vermul, who was among the top 5% in her AP Lit and Composition essay exam that was recognized by Princeton. Writing Center
Additionally, I have used the writing center both online and at the U as you suggested. This has helped me a great amount as there are many little details that they have taught me to improve my essays. Online
I have used many online resources that further improved my technical writing. For example, thesaurus sites, online tools that corrects grammar mistakes that Microsoft Word wouldn’t be able to find and websites that provides me different approaches to improve a simple …show more content…
Also, there has been a situation where I missed class, however that was due to being sick, but I made sure that I was on top of it by emailing you and reaching out to my classmates to find out what I have missed.
Although, I believe I haven’t performed to my fullest ability in participating, I have put much time outside of class to perform the necessary duties you require us to do.
Improvement
I have gotten a grasp on many topics covered in class, and have portrayed that in the required essays. However, I do not believe that I have mastered all completely just yet. I believe there are still areas I must improve. A key area is style, moreover, how to be more concise and addressing my main points clearly. This is the main reason why I do not believe I should deserve an A, but rather an “A-”. Please offer any feedback and I appreciate your time for reading my self-evaluation and please let me know if you have any
