My developing and learning of these characteristics have brought my leadership ability to where it is today. I use these attributes to not only develop my teammates as players and students, but also as citizens. As I go further in life, I hope that I may improve upon these attributes even more, thusly, becoming a better leader for the future.

The world today has too many coaches that are just going through the motions. Personally, I believe that coaches have an inherent duty to get athletes to their best possible state physically, psychologically, and socially. We are the creators and builders of tomorrow’s David Beckham and Serena Williams, and we need to own that responsibility wholeheartedly or find new professions. We have to be able to let the children love what they do or it will not benefit them, but only provide hindrance in their development. This also requires following up with them throughout the week to see how they have taken steps towards the goals we are trying to achieve. I also struggle to make myself vulnerable to other people. This not only stems from my personal background, but the fact that I hold myself to such high standards and high goals, that I do not want other people to know when I have failed. This requires leaving my comfort zone and trusting that my learning team has our team interests at heart. If I do not make myself vulnerable to some degree we will not be able to effectively establish common learning team rules, much less common goals.…

Every year at my high school, we do an end-of-the-year project called the Interdisciplinary Project. For junior year, our entire class had to create our very own amusement park by creating business plans, models, brochures and even presentations to pitch to investors. When we were separated into groups of seven we had to elect a leader and they choose me. As leader I first analyzed my teammates’ intentions for the project, were they trying to get an A+ or was receiving a B- fine. By analyzing their intentions I was able to ascertain the work potential that members would put out towards the project.…

In preparation for my personal entrepreneurship statement, I evaluated my own personality and characteristics and also had those close to me evaluate my personality through online questionaries and interviews with my parents. The instruments that I used were the Myers-Briggs Indicator and two questionaries from The Authentic Happiness Project at the University of Pennsylvania. These tests were very interesting because I saw a lot of similarities between the results, giving me great insight on my characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. I thought the Myers-Briggs Indicator was definitely the most insightful test because it gave a very in-depth analysis of my personality. While the other two tests did offer some insight into my personality, I felt that the results were not as well explained and extensive as the Myers-Briggs Indicator.…

Based on my career results and research, I have chosen my profession as marketing management. At first I was always doubtful about going into marketing because I thought that it was all about utilizing your creative side, and I do not feel as though I am a creative person. However, after researching I found that it has a lot more to do with math than I could have ever imagined and a lot to do with human behavior, which are both interesting topics to me. Marketing managers generally work to determine the demand for the product and/or services that their company and competing companies produce, and identify the potential markets for those products and services. In addition, they also deal with the pricing that will be reasonable for costumers…
