I started my position as the Assistant Teacher in January 2015, and was amazed how quickly I loved working with children. Witnessing the children grasp the concepts of the classroom work that I taught them has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. This experience has inspired me to continue my education and become a teacher for youth in early education. I have debated many career paths since graduating high school and college, however I have never been more certain that education is the right path for me. Working at the Montessori has given me insight on how I would want my classroom to function. I would encourage children to be self-sufficient, to do all work properly, and to be kind and respectful to their peers, teachers and parents. Being able to educate students would be an extremely rewarding profession, but inspiring future generations in the way my teachers did, would be a dream come true. My counselor and I have discussed the challenges set before me to achieve such a dream, even though my time since college has not been designated towards becoming a teacher.
