after work. As Kouzes and Posner would say “Building trust is a process that begins when someone (either you or the other part is willing to risk being the first to open up, to show vulnerability, and to let go of control” (222). I have to let them know I trust them and then they will start to trust me. When I am purchasing frames or making a decision I can always ask for their input, which will show I trust them by asking them for help. I always show concern for others, but at times I feel like I put my interest before others. I need to build on putting other interest ahead of my own, that will build trust as well. I need to listen to others and give them my full attention and show them that I am paying attention. By paying attention to their ideas and concerns thiswill help them solve their problems, and be open …show more content…
We are all together 40 hours a week, so we should at least have some type of friendship. I can start asking the staff if they want anything from Starbucks when I run out at lunch time, this would show respect. The leadership challenge says “Although it’s not expected that you be everyone’s best friend, researchers have demonstrated across a variety of settings that having a friend at work and having a friendly relationship with your supervisor contributes significantly to healthy and productive workplaces” (Kouzes and Posner 225). We do not have to be best friends and hang out after work every day, but it would be nice to be friendly to one another. It would make our days easier. My last job each month who ever could make it on the day we planned would go out to dinner. It was a different place each month and a different person would pick it. We tried for once a month but it was usually every three months. This helped us to develop friendship and when we were at work it was more of a friendly environment. Everyone was invited so it was not like we left anyone out.

4-H, I learned responsibility not only for myself but to accomplish the task at hand, e.g. taking care, washing, cleaning pens/stalls for the animals at the fair. I may sound a bit redundant, but like in the FFA you will make the constant of friends and competition, and this friendly competition is what makes it fun to be in organizations like 4-H. I am currently the Secretary of the Rural Raiders 4-H club in Foster County, and I am expected to help record membership, attendance, and the meetings for my club. This last experience was an extension to responsibility, and responsibility is a lesson that nobody will not get enough of whether it is direct or implied. Some of todays kids do not know responsibility because they do not have the agriculture…

However, in each of these situations, the friendship will most likely end once the students no longer have that class together, or once one worker gets a new job. These friendships are friendships of utilitarianism. The second kind of friendship involves a sort of intimacy. People who have these kinds of friendships experience the life with great happiness and often times find themselves feeling happy with life. In most cases those who follow the ways of Kant’s categorical imperative may experience this type of friendship with others because they do not see them as a means for their own pleasure, but instead see them as an end within itself.…

A common view of this is group projects. Students who work together on a project should not feel like they have to check up on one another. This trust needs to go both ways, student A, should be able to trust that student B gets their part done. Student B should do or feel the same towards student A. When both partners are able to feel like one another is able to get the project done, a bond of trust is born. They know that is will get done without the anxiety of worrying on the…

Friendship among Men Who among us doesn’t have friends? The answer to this question depends on your definition of friendship; some people define it as any relationship that we have, in general, others believe that it’s only between people who can be trustworthy, and there are who think that friendship is only very close relationships. In “What Are Friends For” article that is written by Marion Winik, she focused on the types of friendships between women, but that doesn’t mean that these types of friendships can’t be among men as well. However, there are some types of friends men commonly have such as the advisor, the sport, the party friend, and the neighborhood dude. The advisor friend is the most trustable, and he is usually the wisest among all types of friends; men like to talk to this type of friend because he listens carefully and helps in taking decisions with tranquility and comfort.…

I want to participate in the Summer Focus Program for a few reasons. Participating in this program is a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge of science and gain some insight into the method of scientific research. Scientific research is the process of conducting a study to answer a question. It involves several steps, with the first being an analysis of prior research studies on the topic and an assessment of what essential elements to take from this background literature. The scientist then proceeds to conduct a systematic design of experiments with a set of grounded assumptions from the literature.…

In every facet of life, society is dependent on others to behave in trustworthy ways. However, building trust in any relationship can be quite a difficult task; therefore, trust is the key to all interpersonal relationships, because without it, no real, genuine connections are established or maintained. That said, according to Dr. David Johnson, social psychologist and author of Reaching Out:Interpersonal Effectiveness and Self-Actualization, trust is the foundation for building and maintaining caring and productive relationships, which essentially measure the health of a relationship, as well as the level of intimacy between partners (Johnson, 2014, p.97). Johnson also argues that trust has a major impact on one’s well-being, interpersonal…
