I have learned many valuable core ethics during my six years of volleyball like teachable spirit, accountability, and competitiveness. In addition, I relish partaking in the fine arts provided by our institute. Currently I am taking Art 5 and participate in competitions annually since I was a freshman. In a like manner, I have an infatuation with music. I give guitar lessons to children hoping to make their desire to learn music grow exponentially. My father had not always been the greatest role model even before I was born. He had abused my mother and was heavily addicted to drugs. My mom had taken care of her three children by herself with no financial help from my so called “father”. He was later diagnosed with Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder ruling him unfit to have a job, therefore, not having to pay child support. Knowing my dad has these disorders makes me want to working with other people who have the same diseases and to further understand it. When I was about eight years of age my mother remarried to a wonderful man and we moved to Kansas. My stepdads job is solely based on the economy at that point in time. He owns a roofing company and we have never been financially stable. We have good and bad years so, paying for college rests more on me getting scholarships versus my parents paying for it. I have two older sisters my parents are trying to help through college and I can tell they are nervous about paying for mine as well. As for my father now, we are legally obligated to visit him every other holiday until we turn eighteen. Within the past few that my sisters and I have visited we have witnessed many things children should not. Once over Saint Patrick’s Day, which is very close to my birthday, we were with my dad shopping for my birthday present. All I wanted was this big blow up ball which he had bought me. He bought himself some boots too and …show more content…
Both of my sisters have attended highly admired colleges and I unquestionably want to follow in their footsteps. Since I have such a passion for Music, my hope is to continue my education in that field. Attending college gives me that opportunity and would help me to achieve my desired occupation as a music therapist. I am not just hoping to attend college but graduate with a high grade point average and many fond memories made along the way. My sisters both have said how college is tremendously different compared to high school in so many ways. They have made lifelong friends and experienced so many unique opportunities that I myself would like to encounter. My main goal for wanting to attend college is to be independently on my own away from home and pursue the career that make me feel like I am making a difference. Sharing my love and knowledge for music with the world just pushes me to achieve as high as I possibly
