Personal Statement: A Letter To The SCP Foundation

Decent Essays
Hello Mr. Lorenzo,

I'm a Spanish-native speaker, English teacher. I have over 4 years of experience as a writer, and most of my life as an avid reader. I've also been an active member of the SCP Foundation, a collaborative writing website (here is the link for more information http://www.scp-wiki.net/about-the-scp-foundation), for about 5 years. The SCP Foundation is well known by its high writing standards, criticism, and story quality.

I'm very interested in this job, as it offers me the opportunity to make good use of my vast experience as a reader and literary reviewer.

For this job, I will stick to your fixed price. 30$

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration

Regards, Jose

When I first arrived back to America at the age of five, I did not know a word of English. A few months after my arrival, my English enhanced dramatically because of my teacher’s motivation and guidance; she encouraged me with her stories about learning English. Becoming an AGPCNP will provide me with the knowledge and training to safely and effectively treat adult patients across the lifespan. Although I entered this program planning to work as an FNP, experiences during the pre-specialty year have confirmed my passion for the adult patient. Specifically, I hope to serve rural communities as a primary care provider, focusing my practice on the management of chronic disease in older adults. My passion for older adults is rooted in the experiences I had throughout the summers of my undergraduate career. I spent my summers with a nonprofit in rural North Carolina partnering with churches, social workers, and businesses to complete home repair for low-income families.…

I second all of the points brought up by Chris in his responce to your incredible writing. I was deeply moved by your literacy narrative. By simply having the pleasure of spending the past month or so with you, I would have never known about the part of your life that you wrote so passionately about in your literacy narrative. I often find it so intriguing that everyone has a story that resonates so deeply with him or her. Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

When looking for books I mainly focus on the genres. I am a huge fan of romance novels because they take you somewhere new. Most romance novels are of things you know will never actually happen in real life but you dream of them anyway. To me what makes someones work great is being able to relate to it, if the work is so far out that its complete fallacy then it is hard for me to get into reading it. Being in a place that isn 't real can be nice…
