Personal Statement: A Letter To Admissions Committee

Dear Admissions Committee,
It is my honor to recommend multi-talented Assem for admission to your undergraduate program. I had the joy of teaching Assem for the last 3 years as her History and Social Science teacher. Throughout my career, I have not encountered a student that would excel more both academically and socially. I have always been impressed by her maturity and confidence, innate leadership qualities and diligence in her studies.

Assem is full of ideas, never afraid to speak her mind and always eager to broaden her horizons. In one of the lessons she expressed an idea that school textbooks only mention male political activists, disregarding the impact of their wives and mothers and female activists. Personal Statement Almost everyone had a rod in hand as they walked through the main street headed for the pier or docks to try and reel in a tasty morsel for dinner. In my small fishing village surrounded by serene mountains and lush waters, I grew up distant from many of life’s amenities and creature comforts. Surrounded by family and relatives, I lived in a capsule of love. Little did I know that in several years, I would be on a plane bound for the United States, uncertain about my future but resolve in my dreams.…

As the year comes to an end, all that is left is prepare for senior year and advise the incoming juniors of what to expect. First and foremost, to all of the incoming juniors I would like to advise that they enjoy their experience as a Junior but not stray from their education. Junior year is such an important year for college futures and career paths, that so much uncertainty leads students to stray down the wrong path. As long as they know their priorities, the incoming juniors will be able to enjoy their junior year. Me, as an incoming senior, want to take my own advice and enjoy the year while setting my priorities straight.…

The beginning of my undergraduate career is not impressive and not worthy of holding the title of a PA. A student’s GPA is important in order to be accepted into a medical school or any other healthcare professional school, I was well aware of that, but I did not hold the maturity to excel in my academia. However, I’m grateful to realize my mistake halfway through my semester and searched for help to turn the downhill route my grades were taking. In attempts to remedy my subpar GPA, I added a second major to help with my overall GPA; however, I did not choose a major that would be considered easy, but I chose Psychology, a major that is challenging. It soon became evident of my success in throughout the rest of my undergraduate years.…

I wish to be in English IIA because I want to face and overcome the challenge of an accelerated course. I believe that this class will push me harder to learn and prepare me for college. If I was put into English II I would probably lose interest and become unfocused, but with a fast moving class I would gain motivation to learn. I enjoy working and reading independently, so this class would be perfect for me. However, I do not oppose the idea of working with classmates and I will gladly cooperate.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

Personal statements are well known to many young adults in high school and older. Mainly because a personal statement is an important aspect of your high school career in order to be accepted to the college you would like to attend in the future. When I became a high school senior, I didn’t know what to do, what to write, or where to even begin with the two essays. I was lost and confused. I strongly believe that learning how to write and create my personal statement is extremely significant to me because it taught me how to be very detailed, yet short and straight to the point, speak with emotions without being so overly dramatic, and lastly, it taught me how to write a well structured essay.…
