Personal Statement: A Career In Music Management

I am very interested in music management and want to be involved in a famous artist’s career. Learning about music management can help me because it will make me very successful and enjoy my life with a career I am interested in. This description reveals that music management can help me enjoy my life by doing something I have always loved. To achieve a career in music management, people need to know the skills, duties, and courses used in the music management business, so they can become successful in their career. There are many different skills required to have to become a music manager. According to John Hopkins University, To succeed in music management, you need to be acknowledging, honoring, encouraging, and supporting individuals and teams (“Talent Management”). …show more content…
To develop my path in music management, some courses I would need to practice are music, marketing, finance, arts management, entertainment law, and the record industry (“How Can I”). This is significant for me to know so that when I am ready to start to plan my path to my career, I will have an idea of what classes to take to help me. Another helpful course is to get into Bachelor degree programs in music management because they will “give you an overview of the career through courses in music theory and history, orchestration, sound recording, and computerized music” (“What Duties”). This shows me that taking a Bachelor degree program would be a great course to learn more about music management. Finally, “ Internships can also expose you and your talents to people in the music business, allowing you to develop relationships that can help you find a job or eventual clients” (“What Duties”). This quote explains to me that getting an internship will help develop relationships in my business. Now, as we all can see, they are many different courses to take to help people be successful in their music management
