Since I was in 6th grade of middle school, I have aspired to pursue a career in medicine. It wasn’t until after losing a best friend to cancer and witnessing my 9-year-old cousin battle multiple rounds of cancer, that I became avidly interested in the pediatric population. I have continuously told myself growing up that I will one day take care of the hurting children and the families that feel lost in a time of grief. Since joining nursing school, I have kept my heart open to other areas that I could potentially practice but I always find myself drifting back towards pediatrics.
