I was the cinematographer for a documentary recently and I captured the b-roll footage to put throughout the movie. The documentary was a group project that I did for a video production class. The footage I got was meant to be small interesting clips to cut into an interview. I have provided an edited version of my footage that put together to try to tell a story of how balloon pilots get into the air and fly around Albuquerque. I tried to capture the way the crew goes about setting up a balloon in a creative and interesting way. I think that I captured the beauty of …show more content…
I do my best to keep up with the industry in my own time and I am always learning new things. I have begun to watch movies and study the camera movements and how they use different angles and moves to convey a mood. I am very interested in camera work but, I would also like to learn about screenwriting, lighting, audio, and video editing. I think all of these things make a well-rounded filmmaker. Lighting and audio are both aspects of cinematography that are just as, if not more, important that the actual camera itself. Screenwriting and video editing are other fields I would like to learn so I can create and make my own movies. While I am most interested in cinematography, I would like to learn about all aspects of live-action filmmaking. Having a sense of all the different jobs can help me fully decide on a career before …show more content…

Throughout the course of this semester, taking TCF 201 has taught me about, even though I come to the conclusion that going in this direction of actually being a filmmaker is not for me, in the end. However, it did teach me a great deal.
