Personal Statement: A Career In Creating Art

Ever since I could pick up a crayon I have been creating art. I colored on anything I could get my hands on, and was always adding more color everywhere I possibly could. My love for painting blossomed my Junior year of high school when I took an oil painting class and fell in love. I knew from the very first day that I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I have been blessed with such a beautiful gift and I plan on using it everyday for the rest of my days. I plan on attending the Cleveland Institute of Art to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting. With this degree my intentions are to open my own business where I will create and sell my art. I have always promised myself that I would choose a career that I would …show more content…
When I am able to take a completely white space and add color, the options are endless to what I am able to create. Going through project after project is a true blessing because I get the satisfaction of having created something special. Each piece is special in its own way especially if its a custom work of art. Taking someone else's ideas and creating it into a painting is something super special. Being able to present the work I have created is another reason why I have choose this career. People get so happy and excited, and it makes my heart feel blessed that I was able to bring joy to someone. Working with people is another reason that I chose this career path. One of the most important skills in life is the ability to talk to people. Being able to talk with people and discuss my work and the love of creating things is something I look forward to doing more of. Technology will be a big part in my career. Running my own business means that it will play a key role in communication. I plan on having my own website to promote my work to be viewed on a larger scale.
