Decent Essays
I thought that this was a really interesting posy. I really liked you post also. I work in a welfare setting now and I find that one of the hardest things for me to do is to tell parents that they don’t qualify for something. For example if they don’t qualify for medicate, but they are don’t make a lot of money. That is something that is hard for me. After I graduate I don’t want to work in school setting because I don’t want to wok with children. I want to work with adults, even though sometimes adults act like children. I find a lot of job satisfaction when a client tells me that they got a job. Getting a client a job is one of my favorite things to do, because I am making the client independent instead of dependent. I find it very interesting

I started the social work program at Oakland University in 2013 at that time my goal was to obtain my BSW with a minor in child welfare. My other goal was to work for the D.H.H.S in child protection services. The other reason is my age itself, or at least it was. When starting out I let my age become a negative and always felt somewhat out of place.…

For me, social policy is not only a deeply interesting area of study, but the initiatives regarding council housing, minimum wage, and the welfare state have profoundly influenced and shaped my life. As a child I was not aware of it, but my family was one of those making difficult decisions in order to get by.
