They have other physicians under them and other healthcare workers as well. Some may also be teachers and so they would have to work with their students. This job requires kindness, patience and understanding of others situations. This job is indoors and it has a lot of mental stress.The hours are at least 40 hrs per week and depending on whether they are academic pediatric oncologist or clinical pediatric oncologist they may have a rotating shift. There is not a lot of traveling involved, but if a pediatric oncologist wants to help out in developing countries then there would be a lot of travelling
