I have thought about my career a lot growing up. I have come to the conclusion that I would like to go into a profession where I can help people. This puts me in the position that I can choose from a variety of careers. My first choice would be a nursing home administrator and or owner. This requires a college degree along with another two years in graduate’s school. This job also commands social skills and the ability to keep calm in any situation. The job requires a calm, collected, friendly person who can get things done without being rude. My second choice would be a history or science teacher in secondary school, or elementary level schooling. Being a teacher requires a lot of patience and respect. If I chose the path of a teacher I would go to college for primary or secondary education. I would then go back to school to get my masters. The master's degree would help me to expand my field and be able to be a better teacher.

Some challenges that would keep me from my goals are that I might have to go out of state for college. Not only is this expensive, but also it is challenging because I have never lived anywhere but Anderson, and it is hard to move away from my family. Another thing that would be challenging is behavior issues with students or residents. Behavior problems are inevitable and are very much a challenge. The biggest challenge about behavior is being able to handle the

I absolutely loved this work, being able to commutate one on one and help people is what I love to do. It also gave me a general idea of which area of occupational therapy I would enjoy working in. After my field work and working at a nursing home and with mentally disabled adults, my goals after OT graduate school is to work in productive aging, mental health, or a rehabilitation unit.…
