A mentor can be far more junior than you. A mentor can even be a child, I know many teachers who have been mentored and motivated by the beliefs of their teenage students. Therefore a mentor is simply more proficient or knowledgeable in particular areas. That is why I suggest a teenager being a teachers mentor because times change and as we grow older we forget how it was to be a teenager. Plus age is not an indicator of maturity. Keep your mind and eyes open for mentors of every age. More importantly, think about what it is you are seeking from a mentor, then find the person with the right capabilities to fit the bill.
