Personal Statement: A Career As A Future Veterinarian

I don’t like people. I want to provide medical care for something other than people. That’s why I want to be a veterinarian. My ambitions and hopes as a future veterinarian will fulfill my dreams of make making a difference in the lives of animals. Why a Vet? I don’t really recall the exact moment I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. I know I was young and always tried to being animals into the house. My mom would get so mad at me and wouldn’t let me play outside somedays. As I grew up I always seen stories or commercials about neglected animals that had been abandoned or harmed by humans. I then realized that people are cruel and do thing to harmless creatures for no reason or entertainment. That’s why I decided to be one of the few people to help these animals.

They diagnose diseases, perform surgery, and prescribe medicine like a regular doctor the only difference is the patients are animals. There are many pathways one can choose when it comes to being a vet. The main profession in the vet world is a Companion Animal Veterinarian these people work in private hospitals and clinics with domestic animals such as dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, etc. Another type is Food Service Vets these professionals work with the animals we eat such as Cattle, Pigs, Chickens, Sheep, and any other animal’s humans might eat. They work solely on farms making sure the animals are safe to eat and live a healthy life up until the slaughter houses. I personally would like to be a companion animal veterinarian because I know what it feels like to have sick pet and not knowing what to do and spend time online trying to find a
