Personal Statement: A Career Analysis

I am a boot-camp baby—a child conceived right before boot-camp. I was born in Greenville, South Carolina on a Monday afternoon. I was born as a military brat, and moved to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina about a year after I was born. Swansboro, North Carolina has been my home as long as I can remember. Here is where I grew into the woman I am today who values honesty, hard work, and kindness. The place where I live is very idyllic—crystal coasts, quaint little downtowns, the best beaches, and the greatest food in the world. I would like to join several clubs while in school, mainly focused around music entertainment which leads me to my career goals. I aspire to be a part of the executive staff at Sony Music for International Music Marketing. Here, I will be in charge of running promotions and marketing for artist on the label. With this job I will travel frequently, earn a decent salary, and experience music I love daily. I have identified my love and talent with marketing, and I aim to direct my talents towards an amazing career. This scholarship will enable me to move past my adverse home circumstances. In addition, I have no financial support for my college and career endeavors. I am dependent on the scholarships I am awarded, government aid, and my savings from working this upcoming summer.
