Personal Statement: A Career Analysis

Throughout my years in school, I probably said I would have twelve different careers - mostly the ones my friend said she would be - but it was nothing I took seriously until high school. I knew my hobbies, my interests and I considered myself talentless, but I still did not know on what route to take. However, I had no doubt that college was my path to success and that I would eventually find my passion along the way.
I was an advanced filmmaker at The Guthrie Center where I was awarded for my P.S.A on my scoliosis experience at The Houston Public Library’s “Reel Teen Film Festival” in the spring of 2013. I enjoyed producing short films and knew I had some sort of gift for it, but not enough to call it a talent. Eventually, I took interest in the Film & Tv industry in the costume design department. Because of my classification, scholarships, grants, and loans, I was able to pay for my freshman year. Being a fashion merchandising major, I am exposed to what I did not understand about the design industry as I completed basic design courses and intro to sewing. This allows me to understand the complexity of the costume design field and its vital role in the entertainment industry. Moreover, I am striving to graduate within three years or less by taking summer classes and CLEP exams at Houston Community College to enhance my chances of an early graduation and taking over sixteen hours at Sam Houston State University every semester. I also plan on taking an internship for the Disney College Program in the costume department to receive hands on experience in the field before
