In the orchestra, Mr. David Torns, the conductor and associate conductor of the Baton Rouge Symphony, appointed me as 3rd chair in the trumpet section for four consecutive years. In LYO, I became a leader not because I have been a part of the organization since secondary school, but, because I made it a priority to be prepared and immerse myself which gave me and the other trumpets encouragement to practice. The trumpet section and I even had the opportunity to perform at the Louisiana International Film Festival with the Baton Rouge Symphony. In B.R.A.Y.S, for four years, I held the principal trumpet position, and I volunteered to coordinate with collecting, purchasing, and wrapping presents for Parker House each year with the band. I even appeared on Channel 2-WBRZ with my band director, Mr. Sherlock, to promote and receive presents for each child in the program. In addition, I competed each year in the District IV All Parish Honor Band. This year (2018), I honorably made second chair in the Symphonic Band. However, the most rewarding experience happened whenever I got to perform at the Baton Rouge River Center Theater in front of a hundred people. Mr. David Torns held an open audition in order to fill-in a piano solo for Themes from Frozen. I practiced for weeks. It was a one-time
