Certain skills are desirable and can be beneficial regardless of your current job position or career that you intend to pursue. These skills make a candidate stand out from a crowd, therefore they are seen attractive to a new employer. Uxbridge College would want to become aware of your personal skills, as these skills portray your own strengths and talents that you can bring along with you at Uxbridge College. Being able to successfully utilize those skills can be very valuable for both the employee and the organisation, as some personal skills can help both the employee and the organisation to work effectively and progress to an extent. Therefore, employees who efficiently complete a lot of their work, then they are the ones that are valued by their employees, whereas employees who aren’t working during their work hours, but instead they are chilling or chatting on the internet will tend to make a bad impression. Therefore, if lecturers are constantly distracted this can leave a bad impression on to students and they may find it acceptable to do the same thing during lessons, as the students may think that the lecturers are either not professionally trained or not serious about their job. Lecturers have many responsibilities in which they have to be alert and do their job accurately, for example they have to attend meetings, organise and prepare lessons, mark students’ assignment and give both written and verbal feedbacks. This suggests that as a lecturer it is vital that you are prepared beforehand as you have to share your knowledge with other students. At times it is possible that as a lecturer you have to stay late sometimes, in order to complete your job on time e.g. parents evening or you have to make past papers for a test. Being hardworking shows that employees at Uxbridge College are dedicated to their job and are pleased to be where they are, therefore no matter what they are more likely to complete their
