Challenging students to think more deeply is a great technique that a teacher can use to make students work hard and make them to get ready for their exams. When a teacher give extra work to students makes them to critical thinking and more thinking will help students to engage in the class discussion based on their opinion, but this is not enough to motivate students to work harder. For example, in the article “He Inspires Excellence, author David Oliver Relin writes about Mr. Roy Sunada, who was a European History teacher and his students are from Pasadena’s John Marshall Fundamental Secondary School. He is marshal advanced placement coordinator who believes that students have to work hard to get a good grades”. He was challenging his students by taking a hard test which was impossible to get an A+ grade. He created these kind of test for his students so that students work harder and push themselves to get a good grad. By this technique students were able to answer the questions even though they were very difficult. The challenge is to have students to think more accurate. Similarly, Mr. Ray Sunada challenged his students and pushed them to work harder for college. By having sense of humor method, teachers can develop and enhance student attention. Sense of humor can reduces student’s stress and tension, so they can be more proactive in the class. Moreover, some teachers try to be involved in personal students’ lives in order to solve their problems and help them to get rid of troubles. These teachers believe that knowing student’s issues can help them to guide their students by their own experience, so students can focus on studying instead of spending their time to resolve their personal problems. The technique of challenging students make them to work hard and inspire them to go beyond their ability. Most of teachers use this technique as well. They motivate their students to do their best and get a good result of their efforts, which is very important in their path to success.
