To begin with, My personal take on “Desiree’s Baby” by Kate Chopin was a great story but from the start I was skeptical of it because it seemed far out of what I typically enjoy. I had no idea in the world that Desiree would end up walking in the grass and never returning again with the baby. To add to this, I would have never guessed in a million years that Armand’s mother would be black, although his father was very friendly to the servants I still would have never thought that it would be Armand who would carry that gene. Personally, I feel the story is a very excellent way to start off the course because it makes the reader really reach deep and focus on the content of the story as it was easy to get lost. This allows the reader to fully grasp the character and the subject matter as well as understand the hidden connections within “Desiree’s Baby.” In conclusion, the story “Desiree’s Baby” by Kate Chopin was a magnificent story that made me as reader delve deep into the content contained within the pages to figure out every detail I could.
