According to the Personal Resilience Inventory in Allison-Napolitano & Pesut (2015), I am a moderately resilient person; however, my score of 26 places me very close to being an amazingly resilient person (p.15). Overall, I agree with the interpretation of my score. I consider myself to be amiable and confident in my own abilities. As Webb (2013) posits, it is important to take personal responsibility for being the best you can be, that to use your own benchmark is far more constructive than comparing yourself to others (p.3). I disagree with the characterization that in the face of disruption my equanimity is not always balanced in response (Allison-Napolitano & Pesut, 2015, p.15). Hatler (2013) believes that nurse leaders may build resilience at the personal and group level by following several steps that include assessment, acceptance, adaptation, and advancement.
