The training and development exercise that I created was intended to serve incoming first-year community college students. Thus, this training will assist incoming first-year community college students to make a smooth transition from high school to college as well as help students adjust to college life and introduce and connect them to resources on campus. Through this experience, I was able to practice my management skills as an upcoming student affairs professional. In addition, I learned that in order to create a purposeful and outcome driven training, student learning outcomes had to be at the core of the training. Because student-learning outcomes provide parameters of what information student are going to leave with after attending this training. I have had several opportunities to practice my organizational skills as a career graduate counseling assistant (CGCA) at East Los Angeles College, I was responsible for organizing department meetings as well as organizing meetings between my supervisor and other professional personnel on
