I figured it wouldn’t be much of a difficult task considering most my previous papers were about personal experiences. But, this is where I went wrong and overlooked the assignment. I underestimated the paper and its lengthy 1,000-word requirement. I chose to write about my first football game of senior year, I had so many vivid memories and flashbacks running through my head that I forgot to check my sentence structures. I created so many sentence fragments, run-ons, and punctuation errors. I should have sat down and looked over my paper more often and had it looked over more than once. in the narrative essay, I wrote the paper a few days before, then had a conference, looked over it once and changed a few things, and then I turned in my final draft. I had so much confidence and acted like I had a perfect paper, I had a fixed mindset. That was a complete letdown for me starting off the year. I was so hyped and excited to have my paper read and to receive a great score that I forgot to take care of the little problems, the fundamentals I learned sitting in the back of the room playing with crayons while in kindergarten. Something had to be done with my approach to this class, I had to change for the next
