My strengths in writing is that I always have so much to say. I can visualize and hear in my head what I want to say; my issue is that I cannot get it right on paper. You remember the game telephone? We all sit in a circle and pass around a simply phrase, but by the time it gets to the end of the 30 students before you it is nothing like the original. That is how my writing is. I can also make sure that my assignments are done ahead of time so I that I do not feel rushed. This will also give me a chance for re-writes. There are some boosters offered by Grand Canyon University for grammar that I will be taking advantage of. I also recently found a web app to submit my writing for detailed checks. I have found that it is great for what Microsoft misses.
In the past as well as currently I rather enjoy writing short stories. I use it more as a therapy. Supernatural as well as paranormal romance are my top two genres. I even write book reviews for a select group of new writers. These writing are different because in paranormal anything goes.
The writings I have done in the past differ from what I am doing today in class in a few important ways. My past writings are less formal and more fun; whereas academic writing is just that academic. Punctuation, grammar, syntax must always be spot on. My past writings are fun, romantic, descriptive. I am really the only one who reads my personal writings so in my mind whatever comes out comes out.
