Q1- What Is Leadership?
Part A- How do I personally define Leadership.
To me, leadership is all about bringing people together to work towards a common goal and motivating others to be the best version of themselves that they can possibly be
Part B- What informs this definition.
There are many different factors that helped me form this definition. Perhaps the most important one would be when my learning community and I all participated in our big community learning project. Like I stated in my definition, we were all brought together to work towards a common goal, to help raise awareness for food insecurity. And by doing just that, it brought out, what I thought to be, the best version on each and every one of us. Overall, I would say my

I now have a better understanding of why I am the way that I am. And because of that I can now channel the best version of myself more often. The strengths assessment was the one that I believe really helped me the most. It made me realize the that having empathy and adaptability is actually a good thing. Having those as my top two strengths helps me exercise leadership because it makes me a lot more understanding, which is something I believe all leaders should be able to do. The MBTI assessment helped me come to terms with the fact that there is not really a wrong approach for life. That while I may prefer to base my decisions off of a feeling, others may prefer to think it out. This helps me exercise leadership because it proves that there are not certain beliefs that I need to have in order to be a leader. Lastly, the values inventory assessment helped me realize that my personal values are a huge part of me being a leader as they shape who I am as a person. Without my values I would not be nearly the same person that I am right now. This helps me exercise leadership now by leading others who have the same type of values as …show more content…
Part A- Identify one way in which I see myself leading in the near future.
Hopefully in five years, I will be in my second year working as an ER Nurse in a well respected teaching hospital somewhere. With that being said, I will be leading in many different ways. Hopefully I w be seen as a leader to not only my patients, but my colleges as well.
Part B- What do I think is the biggest gap between where I are now and where I need to be to create change.
The biggest gap between where I am now, and where I need to be in order to create the meaningful change that I know I am meant to, is my lack of education and experience. A specific way I can make progress on closing that gap is just by continuing to work hard and and staying focused on what really matters. Once LEAD 212 ends, I will continue to just take one day at a time and be the best version of myself that I can possibly be. Although I am far from where I want to be right now, I am excited for what the future has a hold for

    1. After reflecting on who or what event provided me with leadership influence I concluded there wasn’t one person or one event that has had the most effect on me to strive to become a better leader or person for that matter. Many of my past supervisors and present alike have been good and bad with more good than bad. I attempt to take pieces from each of their leadership qualities, use things I liked and stayed away from their “bad” leadership qualities I did not believe helped me grow as a leader or produce quality jobs or mission results. All the while, my own personality and beliefs intertwined with their leadership styles to make me who I am today as a leader.…

Throughout history the National Honor Society has become synonymous with the best of the best. A school club that has built a legacy on students who exemplify the ideals of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. To even be considered for a group of this nature would be an honor within itself. Leadership is simply defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization however, I believe leadership to be much more than simply being in charge. True leadership is simply more than being bossy and I have learned this through my experiences within boy scouts.…

My definition of leadership is very simple: leadership is having the ability to mobilize and empower a group towards a common goal. I find that with a much general definition of leadership as a base, it allows for different styles and theories to come from it. My preferred leadership style, for example, is the servant leadership model. The servant leadership model was formalized by Robert K. Greenleaf. My leadership model, as similar as it may be to that of Greenleaf's, came from home.…

Leadership is something I know I posses but as I wrote this essay I found it very difficult to write about myself, I am not a person to brag about personal accomplishments so this was a challenge. I was a leader in several activities, but looking back, I found even though I wasn’t in a leadership position I led by action. In church on mission trips I realized the younger kids look up to me for guidance on how to do things or talk to people. In everyday life, my sister and her friends look up to me for leadership in school work and social events, and in Ducks Unlimited the mentees in the junior mentor program saw that I had shifted, over the years, from mentee to mentor and that they could also continue their journey in Ducks Unlimited in this…

In my opinion, leadership is an art that influences others to attain a common goal. An effective leader should be humble and strong; someone who can give and take advices to and from others. One cannot be a leader if one cannot follow. In my community, I have had a chance to live by example by volunteering my time to helping others. Furthermore, I am actively involved in school activities, such as choir and other activities that inspire others to make a difference.…
