Most of this has to be credited to my peers within the class as they had shaped the idea of realism in their papers, resulting in having my final drafts reflect their aspects. As for the core ideas of my pieces the inspiration has come from multiple stories and events. The one that stand out the most, that to some may be seen as obvious, would be the inspiration of Nightveil: Alice in Wonderland. The imagination and creation of the land of wonders was a huge driving force in my dark, twisted creation of it. Yet it also played a role in showing how characters within a story can still be relatable to readers, even in situations and settings that are considered unimaginable to be in. The sense of realism in the characters and how they can be relatable in both Alice in Wonderland and my peers creative non-fiction stories resulted in me viewing that as a new way to open myself up to adding creativity in a different …show more content…
With my weakest strength being the revision my strongest strength is the creativity and ideas behind each story. Although the ideas I have may be sporadic at first, the themes and ideas that do stick well together turn out to contain deeper elements within the content of the writing. This is easily portrayed in my description of why Nightveil is the most prominent short story I have written thus far: In short, a story about a deaf girl being kidnapped by an old maniacal geezer and taken to a fantasy world of his creation.
