Personal Reflection On The Mechanical Ventilator

During one day of the clinical practice in the PICU, my patient was on the Mechanical ventilator and had a brain problem, while l was reading the file, the mechanical ventilator start Alarms with Apnea, low MV. After that, the nurse told the RT about the Alarm to look for it, the RT said that he will come later, then the RT go to another patient and he did his work, after he finished came to see the Alarms and try to Solve the problem but he can't, and Leave the patient from 9 to 11 Am without any intervention from health care provider.
I really felt bad and frustrated for this patient. She was tired and the oxygen saturation decreased. I couldn't understand why they kept him all that time without intervention , I was shocked by the RT reaction
