The purpose of this paper Is to reflect on the Criminal Justice Writing Skills course that I have just completed. I am going to reflect on what I have learned throughout the duration of this course, what I have learned about myself, the struggles I have encountered, and the achievement’s that I have made.

Throughout my years in school, I have always felt very comfortable, and I find that I’ve always did a good job when it comes to writing. I have always done fairly well in English, and I would say that is was my favourite class in high school. After leaving high school I have realized there were many essential things that I have not been taught. Since September, I have learned many things relating to writing skills. The first thing I have

Both of these things were not taught to me in high school, and it Is something that is essential for me to learn in order not to plagiarize. we have been doing a lot with references so I know feel comfortable doing them, and I feel that I have a good understanding of them for the next time I have to do them.
The next thing that was done in class was conducting an interview and doing research on my topic, then doing reference research portfolios, and the summary. At first, I did expect all of these assignments to tie together, but they did and I found out a lot about my topic, and it gave me really good insight on a halfway house. If this was not an assignment, I most likely would not have conducted all of the research, and I would not know what I know now about halfway houses today.
The next topic that we covered in class was how to write memo’s, response letters, request letters, and negative request letters. This was also not something that was taught in high school that should have been. This is a great skill that I have learned thanks to the writing skills course. I am sure there will be times in my life that I will be required to write one of the four different

I would say I have achieved my goal of thriving in this course, which is a big accomplishment for someone who has a diagnosed learning disability. Doing good in school gives me the confidence I have been looking for, and the will to learn that I have never received in my previous studies in high school, or at CBU.

Never assume that you will not be good at something when you did not give yourself the time to put your brain to work. A statement that I heard multiple times but that make sense, once again, with this class. I walked in with uncertain and thin writing abilities, and the fear not to be able to align five, different and acceptable essays. However, because of my openness to what would be offered, I acquired and sharpened a great deal of skills. Among which the ability to invent, deliver and edit a text, with the purpose to narrate, criticize or simply analyze, in conformity to the rules of Standard Edited American English. I learned how to stimulate my reader’s senses; grasped the techniques to apply when it comes to writing under pression, and most importantly, I learn to appreciate and incorporate other writer’s input through the writing circle.…

During this semester of English W131, I have experienced both accomplishments and setbacks while learning how to improve my writing skills. Throughout the course, I have learned that writing is not only about how much information is in the paper, but also about how well the writer’s thoughts are expressed throughout the text. Practicing many different styles of writing as I did in the class has helped me tremendously with my delivery in my writing. I believe that this course was one to prepare us for future writing courses with professors we will encounter who will give us feedback that may puzzle us because it will require more work and more thinking. Although I have had difficulty in the class, I do believe that I have learned from my mistakes and that I am finishing the course with stronger writing skills that will help me though the rest of my college career and life.…

When I came to The University of Alabama, I was apprehensive that I did not acquire the necessary skills to take a college English class. Auspiciously, I feel that I have met the desirable course outcomes and expanded my knowledge on writing. Though I have not perfected all of these writing skills, I am confident that I will be able to utilize what I have learned this semester in future courses and or my future career.…

I started my journey through writing this year a bundle of nerves and a stomach full of coffee. This is my first year taking an advanced English course, but I was determined to do well. There has been no sleeping in class or slacking off this year, I’m lucky enough to take a college course a year early and at a better price, and I’m not going to waste it. I’ve learned a lot this semester, including but not limited to: identifying how exactly the author’s purpose and audience determines effective writing, developing pieces of writing though a process of planning, revising, and drafting, compose an organized essay with clear points and main ideas, used appropriate tone and formality, critiqued writing, and finally how to grasp the MLA format. My writing has improved through the concepts I have learned this semester.…

Over the past three months, class ENC1101 has taught me some major lessons in English writing. My expectation coming into this class was to become a better writer, at least in my eyes. The different writing assignments were helpful to me using research and asking questions when I was stuck. My progression has included me writing essays, MLA format as well as discussing classmate’s papers, and becoming open to others criticisms about my work. Most importantly I have learned how important English is. Another important thing I learned about the flow of a paper is the conventions of grammar and not using pronoun words Such as I, My, We and stating my opinion. Although I did not feel as though I had much of a problem, it was still useful to restore…

This year I learned more about writing than any others years I had English. I loved the hand on practices, tips, and lessons that we always had to prepare us for the writing assignments. I am so used to learn all rules and figure out when to break them, and when to keep them. It was really confusing how l learn to write. Therefore I was never a good writer or cared to be one. This I actually wrote something that I thought was good. I liked how we talked about the assignments before hand. It sets us in the mood and informs us what we are writing. I learned that it is much easier to write about something that you can get to know the topic first instead of jumping right into it. I was always encouraged to pick a topic and just write something about it. The topics never did grow on me and I never cared about what I wrote. I just wrote for the sake of completing an…
