With the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test, it tells you if you are: Extraversion or Introversion, Sensing or Intuition, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving. Based on the MBTI type, you can found out what group or environment would you fit best or worst in. You can also understand other personalities which can you get along better with them when you are paired up with them. Because of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Test I know my personality type. I am an ENFP (Extravert, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving) type. The best group I could group with is a group that throw out new ideas and possibilities. That would need to at least try to take my wild ideas and turn into reality. I would work best in an environment where I can express all of my creative ideas and not having to be tired down by someone with authority. The worst team I could pair up with is a group that need a figure of authority or someone who always come up with unconventional ideas. It would cause me to not want to express my new ideas which could be detrimental to the group. I also would not like to work with someone who is introversion because they would not be as willing to express the ideas that they come up with in their mind. This is very important in my IT field because group project is essential. …show more content…
We were told to interview a professional in our fields, someone who we could trust and has a profession relevant to our career path. This activity was important to me because I learned more about fields that I thought about going into. You get to ask a professional questions that you have always wonder and get a honest answer right from the source. I interviewed a Bioinformatics’ professional at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. At that time, I was torn between following a career path in Bioinformatics and Cyber Security. This activity helped me decide between the two. I asked him the question, “What advice would you give to someone interested in this career.” He responded by saying, “Bioinformatics is cross-disciplinary. A background in computer science, biology/chemistry, and statistics will be very helpful. I would also recommend it to someone who have a high interest in genes and DNA.” This advice was extremely important to me because at that moment I decided to not go down the path of Bioinformatics. Chemistry and Statistics were both my most struggled classes, even though I excel at Biology. Even though Biology was my favorite subject, genes and DNA was my least favorite part of Biology. Because of this activity I chose to be a Computer Science major with a concentration in Cyber Security with an outside concentration of
