Collaboratively developed a cool tool lesson for entire staff to review “on task” behavior expectation during independent reading time.
This tasked helped me learn that even though I believe in shared leadership and collaboration, there will be instances that it is best for one person to make the decision or complete the task. In this instance, I was the one who had the best idea of what to plan for the lesson. It was more efficient for me to plan the lesson and the other team members review it than it was to have all of us plan the lesson together.

The evaluator writes up a report following each of these informal observation.” This is destructive and disturbing. Students, especially, in elementary school, tend to lose focus and control of themselves when they are not aware of change, since their brain are not yet capable of coping with all in the sudden change. They are many reasons why, this is not a good strategy for principals or other evaluators to use on teachers. The biggest hurdle to accomplishing this feat is time. With so much training, lesson plan development and so on, setting aside time to meet with parents of EBD children seems like a daunting task. Especially if an educator limits themselves to only their “on the job” hours. Although that mindset is just horrible, as a mentor to countless students, one is never “off the job”. There is nothing wrong with quick correspondence, emails or a phone call, to get some quick information or ideas on how to redirect or divert an unwanted behavior or action.…

ELAD690_52 M6 Discussion on Family Engagement As a new principal in an unfamiliar school, I would need to learn about existing family engagement by gathering data in order to develop an appropriate plan. According to Ferlazzo, “We need to relate to families, not as clients, but as partners in school and community improvement,” (2011, p. 10). Similarly, we need to engage all stakeholders in the community to support our schools, and educate teachers, that it is a misconception that providing parents with power does not decrease our control; rather, it increases the size of the pie to afford additional opportunities (Ferlazzo, 20011, p. 14).…
