Fairburn Avenue Elementary Case Study

Fairburn Avenue Elementary is located in a nice and quiet residential area between Ohio Avenue and Fairburn Avenue. The racial neighborhood population of Fairburn is primarily white. What I notice about Fairburn is that the small city is clean and has a well maintain street. The residential homes are all nice and organize. What I mean about organize is that there is nothing laid outside on the grass or any trash. I assume that most of the population is from the middle class because by looking at their homes and at their cars. These families are wealthy and also provides money to the school. Their homes are big, beautiful, well maintained, and all the grass is green in each house. The relationship between the neighborhood and the school is that everything is well maintained and most of the population is whites for the school and neighborhood population. The social economic status of the population is wealthy. Most of the population is whites.

The school has a English Language learner coordinator to ensure that ELL are getting the extra help they need. The ELL coordinator also provides help to gifted and talented students. The English Language Program provides extra help for students that are English Learners. English learners parents are invited to participate and observe the students. According to the ELL coordinator, she discusses the ELL program, concerns, and needs to parents and staff. She makes recommendations to the council in order help succeed English learners with programs and budgets that affect English learners. The program for gifted and talented students provides students with more attention. She also provides a CORE program in language arts. Other schools that I know of do not provide any advance programs for students. The school makes sure that students are getting the attention they need to ensure that these students do not
