When I got up, I wasn’t done packing, so I began packing. The rest of my family were still sleeping. My father picked me up at 10:30. I left without saying bye to my family. I finally arrived at Job Corps, and I removed my bags from the car.
Then I went into the security office. I met all of the other new people, but I don’t speak to them any longer. They took us on a tour of the campus. After the tour we went to class. Career preparation program 1 (CCP1) was my first class. We just signed papers. It was the longest process. I was in this class for two weeks. Then I took career preparation program

I have done my fall internship at the same school but during the day. I feel that there is a lot I can do to support the students both academically and emotionally. During the first meeting with the counselor she expressed that being bilingual and bi-cultural will help. I know that there are not many opportunities to talk or have sessions with students, since they don’t have elective classes where I can see them, but I will try my best to be flexible with their schedules. I found out that they have a student government association, so I will try to be involved in their activities,…

    b. Personally, I think the way social workers providing services should depend on the types of clients we are working with. Working with children is different with working with elderly. Even though both groups demand special care, elderly do not like to be treated as children. Before I started my field placemen at the ELC, I believe that in order to work with children, one should be patient and really love kids. The working experience proved my views were correct.…

Reflective Journal Assignment – Assignment #2 This whole interviewing experience was pretty great and interesting from both sides of the interviewing process; But while I was being interviewed, I felt a slight bit of discomfort during the process and felt that while my “Social Worker” (Bailey) was interviewing me was just a tad bit tense; And what I mean by her being tense is her posture was tense, like she didn’t really seem comfortable at all interviewing me, and her voice was tense as well, she spoke fast and rushed through everything which caused some discomfort. On the other hand, she did make me feel like I was being heard, she never once broke her eye contact with me and somewhat expanded on the questions she originally asked; Also she made it quite easy for me…
