This was when we were assigned to write about mind body dualism in consideration to three different perspectives. I remember that I did not finish the essay until the day it was due, and it was clearly apparent in my essay. I had been trying to get work done on it all weekend, but I could never bring myself to accomplish anything. I know I was under a lot of stress from my other classes at that time, but I had the option to put more work into that piece. The first was the oral presentation I had to give on Barker and Kitcher’s essay “Antiscientism”. My score was deducted because I let the class get off topic, but I think I gave a good perspective on the subject and got other students involved in the discussion. The second assignment where my performance was better was our single test. Half the test was multiple choice questions on logic, and the other portion was a written essay. I did not get a single point deducted on the multiple choice section. I think that I performed very well on the oral presentation because I was nervous to embarrass myself in front of my peers, which caused me to do great amounts of preparation for the assignment.
