Personal Proposal: Faith

Faith,
I agree this website is a lot of fun and very informative. I definitely want to get serious and improve my eating habits as well. I also used “My Daily Food Plan” and got personalized information on my daily recommended amount for each food group which I find extremely helpful. In fact, I did not realize that my former diet lacked somewhat on grains.

A Summit of Faith which took place in the Young Auditorium on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. was a panel discussion that concluded a three-part series event. All events were based on The Saint and the Sultan authored by Paul Moses. The panel discussion was the part in the series which specifically intended to “bring Christians and Muslims together for an open panel discussion about compromise, filtered through the lens of the Saint and the Sultan.” It intended to do so by understanding history and discussing how it might serve today’s society given all the current problems still found in Christian and Muslim relations.…

According to Fowler's theory 1st stage faith development, in stage one, intuitive-projective faith, which spans the ages of two through six or seven, individuals have developed language and are capable of drawing on stories that have been told to them as well as images they have seen to form conceptions of God, though the ways they describe Him are vague and somewhat “magical” (Fowler, 1981, p. 148). At this age, children are incapable of thinking abstractly and are incompetent to perceive the world from others perspective. For them, faith is merely a set of impressions conceived by the influences of their caregiver. Their involvement in the Cultural customs and any other religious practices plays the profound capacity to influence and shape them. His argument tries to reveal so much of our Church practice and teaching, who is trying to instill faith in our young children, who are just beginning their little steps of faith and trust in God.…

For the Nutrition tracker, I decided to use the website My Fitness Pal. I used this site because I have already been using it to track my consumption for the last few weeks as I try to increase my overall health. In my opinion, my diet this week was very disappointing with respect to my diet goals. My diet was severely lacking with respect to its completeness. For the most part I had no real fruits or vegetables, the only consumption of those food groups came as a topping on my burger or other main entrees.…

I believe a food journal is a good resource for people to keep track of the foods that they are eating and kind of help put into perspective what you are putting into your body on a daily basis. I think it is great that choosemyplate.gov provides anyone with a free resource of being able to track their foods and shows you exactly how many calories, fats, sodium, etc. you are consuming each day. This could be a great step towards a more healthy society if more people would take advantage of resources like this and really do something to change their diets after being provided with the information that this website…

How My Faith Defines Who I Am Faith: having a strong belief in a religion, or an even stronger belief in a God. I personally believe in God the Father, and that he created each and every one of us in his own image. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and brought us new life through his death and resurrection. In my faith I stand as a Catholic, which means I believe in only one God. However, God is three persons, also known as the Holy Trinity, meaning there is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.…

I feel that’s because I’m so busy with school and work that I don’t realize what I need to be eating. On Saturday, the graph seemed to show the recommended daily allowance for each food group. On the weekend I’m more focused on my food intake than I am during the busy week.…

A simple grocery plan for a person could include buying one pound of 93% lean ground turkey, an eight ounce bag of spinach, a few bags of frozen vegetables, a box of strawberries and other fruits, a dozen eggs, steel-cut oats, and a loaf of twelve-grain bread. A person wanting to lose weight should plan their meals out and prepare their meals at the beginning of each week, calculating the calories of each meal for each day. How much faith can you have in something before that faith is gone? Can that faith take over you and the way you might see things surrounding what you place your faith in? Faith can be like hope, you can put your faith into something or hope for something so much and be disappointed by the outcome. Like anything it’s always a toss up, because you don’t always have control in those situations. Things like that can put strength behind the thing you have faith in or destroy your feelings towards it.…
