Personal Profile Vs Memoir

Although I have never written either prior to college the difference between a memoir and a personal profile was easily recognizable. A memoir was a memory of something important in my life. It could be good or bad, it just had to be something that affected me significantly. I felt the urge to write about my near death experience as a child and how it made me grow into a better more appreciative person. Where as a personal profile is something written about someone else. It could be someone you care about and know very well or someone you’ve never actually meant but know a lot about. I wrote about my father, for he is the main contributing factor to the man I am today.
