Personal & Professional Accomplishments I can't believe it has been ten years since graduating Temple University. I have been extremely blessed to have accomplished my personal and professional goals. My biggest dream in life was to start my own business. I felt like that was my American Dream and I was going to live my American Dream by any means necessary. After graduating Temple University, I was a young adult who was trying to figure out what business to start. One day I decided to start a cafe because I always liked the food and drinks served in a cafe. I was going on kickstarter, getting investments and bank loans so I can get the money to open my business. Opening up my business was my biggest professional

Opening my business in multiple locations was another major professional accomplishment because I was able to make a difference in decreasing the unemployment rate in the U.S. The more locations my business opened, the more I felt like my American Dream was turning into my American Reality. Like every Entrepreneur, I have faced many obstacles that just made me stronger as a person and Entrepreneur. It has been 5 years since I have been in business, and we are all over the U.S. It's amazing to see a business go from a local cafe to a house hold name. I feel accomplished everyday because hard work is paying off in a big way. I didn't want to just change one country for the better so I expanded my business outside of the U.S. One of my major professional accomplishments was when I opened my first cafe in Europe. There was a lot of obstacles we faced when we were opening the cafe internationally. Majority of the struggle was wondering what foods and drinks to add and remove. Another major obstacle was marketing and advertising in a foreign language. We were able to overcome the major obstacles from opening the cafe in Europe, now we are a …show more content…
When I graduated Temple University, my personal goals were to start a family, make Temple's list of notable alumni, start my own charity foundation, make a difference in the lives of the youth, and help inspire people to better themselves as human beings. I always knew I was one day going to start a family, I just didn't know when. I got married at 27 years old and my 1st born son was born when I was 28 years old. My daughter was born when I was 31 years old. I was able to accomplish my biggest personal goal which was starting a family. My main motive for starting a family was to pass my business down to my kids and share my success with the people I love the most in my life. One of my smaller personal goals was making the notable alumni list for Temple University. When I found out I was making the notable alumni list, I was ecstatic. I never expected to make the notable alumni list within 10 years. I was extremely blessed to be able to provide for my family and make Temple's notable alumni list but there are a lot of people in the world who are less fortunate. I wanted to help people less fortunate then me make a living, so I achieved one of my personal goals which was starting my own charity foundation. I was fortunate to obtain this success, so I felt it was right to help those who

“It’s never too late to be what you might have been” (George Eliot). I am not the average applicant because my achievements are diverse in comparison to others. My noteworthy accomplishment is overcoming an obstacle that I have faced for several years, understanding my identity and not chasing acceptance. These obstacles held me hostage from exuding my fullest potential, but as they have been resolved, my future is boundless. The educational environment has drilled into students that they are less likely to succeed if they do not obtain astounding GPA’s, soaring test scores, and become ambitious Samaritans who have completed years of community service.…

There's a quote that goes, "Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others." Being the son of a minister and grandson of a pastor, I've always been raised to have a profound sense of commitment to others. During my junior year of college, I became project coordinator of a youth mentoring program called "Men on the Move". It was with this program that one of my most memorable, and rewarding, experiences took place.…

I believe that admission to the SC Governor’s School will be a great accomplishment to enhance Kevin’s academic learning ability. Kevin is very intelligent, respectful, talented, competitive and dedicated to obtaining a well-rounded education. However, sometimes he is not as successful in achieving the highest grade possible in his classes. Growing up in an economically, disadvantaged, single-parent home has been difficult for Kevin. Our family, surroundings and economic circumstances are mentally challenging at times for him and my family.…

Being raised in a Nigerian household, I learned that success requires dedication, but a successful person also inspires others to be dedicated. I knew that my parents could not pay for four children to attend college, and I could have worried all day and night thinking about how I going to get through college financially. That did not stop me, however, from taking the responsibility onto myself and striking when the opportunity arises. Repeating scientific facts outloud like a broken record or having an independent study session for four additional hours are things I would do given an extra day before the exam. One goal that is greater than my personal aspirations is to have a direct impact on my community so that children can have another person to relate to.…

I never really had anything to be dedicated to in my early life. I had a fairly easy time going through elementary and middle school. My goals had not been found and I had a lack of motivation to go out and experience my life. This changed when I witnessed true dedication in 2011. My mother wanted to become a chiropractor this meant she needed to go back to college.…

My ecstasy reached the roof, the day I graduated from university. I felt as if I were finally free to chase my goals and passions, both professionally and personally. Unlike other fellow graduates who jump (shouldn’t it be jumped?) straight into jobs in different sectors, I decided to take some time out and relish my newfound freedom, exploring opportunities I hoped would satisfy my interests and goals. After careful thinking, I realized that my passion was in business, in using academic learning and professional aptitude in a productive manner.…

A heartfelt and honored belief in my home comes from St. Ignatius of Loyola, Cura Personalis, which means care the whole person. As a family, we talk about the choices we are called upon to make, everything from what movie to see, what friendships to develop and even what career path to pursue. As I consider life choices, such as college, the decisions to act in ways that honor God and benefit the lives of others are more significant and formative. I can think of no greater way for me to give to a greater good than to become an educator, who cares for each individual student, and the Ignatian values at Loyola are core to my goal.…

My biggest accomplishment is completing Early Academic Outreach Program UC Berkeley Summer Sessions because it gave me a sense of a college environment which many students don’t experience until they enter college. It gives participants full access to the resources which Berkeley provides to its students. The class that I chose was Classic Myth because I found an interest of many Greek heroes before entering this class. It required students to read six books in the span of six weeks. Through my participation in the program, I have developed numerous skills.…

The idea of a problem implies that a solution exists. In math students are taught that one plus one equals two. In Spanish, one must solve the problem of needing to use the bathroom by learning ‘Donde es el banyo?’ In music glaring tonal imperfection can often be solved through the use of a tuning fork. However, when the problem is one of a persona nature the solution becomes more vague and undefined.…

Ever since I was little, I knew that I wanted to be someone big in life. Making my mark on this world was something I felt as though everybody should accomplish one way or another. Helping the community and serving those who are less fortunate or those in need is an amazing opportunity that everyone has, but unfortunately does not partake in. For the longest time I felt as though I could be the one who helped end homelessness in my community or maybe even someone who helped kids in third world countries who live in constant poverty. I had so many hopes and dreams, but changing just one person's life would have been good enough because that was all I ever wanted.…

Everyone has a different social location based on their personal experiences and aspects of their identities. Being a Caucasian, non-religious female, my social location would appear to be like most other Canadian women. Growing up in a small town consisting of dominantly middle-class, Christian families, I have learned that everyone experiences different situations in their own ways, but many people assume that everyone experiences things similarly. In this strongly united community, there were often expectations from people as to how my household should be structured. The general assumption being that my family would be similar to those in my neighborhood: two parents, and siblings from the same two parents.…
