Reflective Essay On Time Management

For this directed task I have decided to write about my personal time management. This is something which has caused me a lot of trouble in the past and I have decided that it is better to sort out the problem that I am having so that I am more professional and can therefore be more reliable.

The reason I have chosen this topic is because it affects not just my professional practice work life but also my student work based life (essays etc) and my own personal life. By learning how to manage my time effectively I will save myself so much time, effort and stress.

Firstly I need to define time management. Remez Sasson writes for successconsciousness.com and in his blog entitled ‘The Importance of Time Management’ Sasson says time management
“…is a set of principles, practices, skills, tools and systems that help you use your time to accomplish what you want.”
So this covers things like being able to prioritise effectively, being able to manage time effectively, learning to avoid distractions and being able to plan ahead. Recently I have

He doesn’t call us to do all things but he does call us to do certain things and he has provided the time for us. It is up to us to choose whether we use that time wisely or not. Chapter 41 of the book ‘100 ways to simplify your life’ is entitled ‘find the most effective way of doing things’ in this chapter Meyer quotes from Colossians she says
‘…making the very most of the time and seizing the opportunity’ (Colossians 4:5, Cited Meyer, J, 2007)
This has been on my mind a lot recently, so often I seem to complain about how little time I have to get something done and I just waste more time instead of seizing the opportunity. I read a quote by Anthony J. D 'Angelo the other day which said
