If I could go back to a place and the past I would go to my grandparents house, back in June the summer of 2001. Why, because that was the last time I was able to see my grandfather and actually hear his voice. If you didn’t know my grandfather you would’ve wish you have known him. My grandfather name is James Carter. He was known as the first black chief /police officer in Yazoo City, MS. To his family he was a loving and caring man. A family man actually, he was the one that kept the family together. If their was something going on in the family he was the first and last person to know. He was the type of person to fix the problem before it become a real problem.

Growing up, I have seen My Cousin Vinny on a few different occasions. This time, watching the film while learning about business law gave me a new perspective on the film and its implications on the American legal system. One of the main concepts that stuck out to me was that Vinny was able to transform from a seemingly unsuccessful law school graduate into a case-winning lawyer. At the beginning of the film, I, much like the characters in the film, doubted Vinny’s abilities to represent Bill and Stan. As the film progressed and I was able to see Vinny gain confidence, composure, and analytical skills, I realized that everything in life takes practice, including law.…
